It has been reported that Hugh Town residents are exposed to unacceptable levels of asbestos fibres from the crumbling former theatre, so Cornwall Council's Cabinet has approved plans to transform the old theatre into a modern 1,354seat performing arts centre. The exciting project will see an auditorium increase to 1,354 seats (from 965), enabling Happy Days to attract top West End productions, promote local talent and revitalise the nighttime economy of Truro. With the auditorium increasing to 1,354 seats, HFC will play host to top West End productions, homegrown talent and revitalize Truro's nighttime economy.
